Concord Baptist Church of Christ

The Rev. Dr. Gary V. Simpson is the Leadership Pastor the Concord Baptist Church of Christ. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Denison University with a BA in Religion and Black Studies; earned the Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, and the Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary.

Pastor Simpson has served as the Senior Pastor of Concord since 1990. He is also an Associate Professor of Homiletics at Drew Theological Seminary. He has served as Visiting Profession of Preaching, Worship and the Arts at Union Theological Seminary. He has taught at New Brunswick Theological Seminary, Harvard Divinity School, Yale Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary and Candler School of Theology.

The African American Heritage House

The African-American Denominational House’s (AADH’s) mission is to serve as an interfaith community that is woven into the fabric of Chautauqua, and to inspire, and to be inspired by, the Chautauquan values of lifelong learning, civil discourse and exploring the best in human values. Our goal is to construct a facility that provides hospitality and programming aimed at leadership development and ecumenical fellowship while preserving, presenting and promoting the diverse cultural assets—both religious and otherwise—of African Americans and people of African descent. We are inclusive of all persons regardless of race, ethnicity or faith.
